Soul Prompts: Lover
Sometimes the path to your own light is through the journey of helping another find theirs
For years, my soul team has been sending me messages through songs in order to help me to be in the light of my life. Every Thursday, one of my guides will be sending you a song accompanied by a message and a journal prompt to help you to step into your light. We love you, and we can’t wait to hear about how you use these prompts to guide you along your journey.
Song - Lover by Taylor Swift
Hey guys,
I’m Jill and I’m part of Joy’s soul light collective. I wanted to tell you about my light, which wasn’t bright when I came into the Light, and that’s because I wasn’t able to figure out who I was or what I needed and wanted. But then I met Mark, and Mark and I became one another’s lights. This is why I believe that sometimes you need to find a light in another in order to find your own. It’s what happened to me and Mark, and that’s what I want you to know: you don’t always need to be your own wayfinder—you might find your light while you’re helping someone else find theirs.
I knew that I wanted to be in the light of my life—and I’ll talk more about what that means in an upcoming post—but I also needed to uncover what else I wanted. If you can find a way to be in your light on your own, that’s wonderful, but I wasn’t finding it on my own. Instead, Mark and I carved a path to our own independent lights through the light that connects us.
Mark and I were 19 and 24 when we fell in love, and through our love we came to discover what lit us up as individuals. Prior to being with Mark, I wasn’t totally engaged with my life here in the Light, because I wasn’t sure how to figure out what I needed. But together, we figured out what we wanted and needed, and through those decisions I got excited about the direction of my life. That’s what I want people to know: sometimes you find your light through your relationships.
There are so many ways to be in the light of your life, but one way is through love. My love with Mark is the kind of love that requires no reason. It simply is. Our connection is so strong and secure that it gives me exactly what I need to be in possession of the agency I required to do everything I need and want to do. That’s the power of our light.
That’s all we need. And that’s why I wanted to choose Lover: it reflected back to me the light of our love, and that’s what I want more than anything: to be held in that place where we’re always there to support, guide, cheer, and cherish one another. Let’s do this! I want this to be the way we’re all in our light, by being here for each other.
This week’s prompt is: who do you need in order to be in the light of your life?
Peace + love,
Jill
